Jimmy Robinson is a legend. There's no one else on earth who can play guitar like that. His prog rock group, Woodenhead, recently celebrated their 50th anniversary, and Jimmy is currently touring Europe, where he is worshipped like a god. This will be his third time hosting the open mic at Old Arabi Lighthouse, and it is always an incredible experience for all who come. You really don't want to miss this, and please come early if you'd like a seat. We feel incredibly honored that he keeps coming back.

Jimmy will play a set at 6, followed by open mic at 7. Each participant will get up to 15 minutes of undiluted fame.

With songs to heal the collective, Rachel is Kozi has been touring nationally since 2024 when their first studio record Lifecycles released. FNF raises the bar for drummer-led projects, with complex rhythmic styles that complement the contagious melodies. A kaleidoscopic pallet of musical influences illustrates the strikingly honest songwriting, employing “an impressive array of hooks that recall 70s power-pop, 00’s indie rock, classic R&B, and twentieth-century jazz standards”(Jacob Reacher, Outside Indie). TASHI DELAY: Tashi Delay is a British-born, New Orleans-based artist, Emily Seabroke. “Tashi Delay balances infectious production and stylistic intrigue with poignant reflections on our place in a digital world.” quoted from Obscure Sound. It is a melting pot of electronic punk and visual art. Tashi Delay’s live show features Seabroke trading full band backing for a solo blend of the live and the looped. A multimedia experience, each song boasts a full-length video that blends real life with computer animation; Seabroke either made or collaborated on the animations. Tashi Delay derives its sound from Bjork, PJ Harvey, and Mclusky. Joy Division’s cold detachment is as audible as the warmth of classic Motown. LISBON GIRLS: Lisbon Girls is a Latin Indie Pop band, comprised of siblings Lucho, Pilar, and Nikolai. They are New Orleans natives, whose parents immigrated from Latin America. Drawing inspiration from their Latin roots, Lisbon Girls has set out to explore various genres, incorporating elements of pop, disco, 80’s new wave, and even ballads from the likes of Leonardo Favio and Juan Gabriel. With a desire on creating a unique sound that would set them apart from amongst their contemporaries, Lisbon Girls have managed to produce a special and authentic style that echoes beyond their influences. In the early 20th century, cultural critics, concerned citizens, politicians, and religious leaders fueled moral panic as they rushed to label jazz, or ‘jass,’ as “the devil’s music.” Break out your devil horns and don your dancing shoes for HNOC’s next Courtyard Sessions concert featuring Dr. Michael White and the Original Liberty Jazz Band. They’ll be playing a set list full of tunes that scandalized polite society in their day. Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes in the spirit of the season! A cashless bar will be available during two back-to-back 45-minute sets. Admission is free for HNOC members and $10 for nonmembers. Standing room only; limited seating is available for guests with accessibility needs. Courtyard Sessions are presented as part of French Quarter Fridays, featuring live music, happy hours, and engaging activities in HNOC’s French Quarter courtyard.

In the world of French Quarter busking, Warpo is a legendary figure. When i first moved to New Orleans in 1994, my first retail gig was a little stand on the French Market. At that time, the strangest of the market vendors was this dude with a rubber chicken, a deck of cards, and a crazy top hat, selling magic tricks that he merrily performed for the tourists. He never failed to put a smile on my face, and we have been friends ever since. Warpo's expertise in magic is of the peculiar variety, as is his sense of humor. Discover your inner child and let Warpo be your guide. We cannot even tell you how excited we are about this unusual debut on the purple sparkle floor. Let's show this legendary French Quarter character the love that he deserves.

Chess lovers of all ages are invited to the fifth annual HNOC Chess Fest, presented by HNOC’s Chess Club! Each year, Chess Fest participants enjoy the opportunity to meet other chess players from around the city, craft DIY chessboards, play chess puzzle games, move as “human chess pieces” on a giant chessboard, join a friendly fast-chess tournament, and more. And because Chess Fest falls on Halloween this year, all participants are invited to come dressed in their spookiest (or chess-themed) attire for our annual costume contest! Whether you’re already an experienced player or someone just curious about learning the fundamentals of the game, HNOC’s youth-led Chess Fest is the place to be. The 2026 Food Forum invites food lovers to explore the rich history and cultural significance of gumbo through a full day of conversation, storytelling, and expert insight. Headlined by renowned food historian Dr. Jessica B. Harris, this year’s forum will examine the dish’s origins, regional variations, and deep community connections through engaging panel discussions and interactive sessions. From heirloom rice and Gulf seafood to cast-iron pots and treasured family recipes, this forum celebrates gumbo as a living expression of Louisiana’s culinary heritage. The day will conclude with a festive Food Fête, where guests can continue the conversation while tasting a variety of gumbos inspired by the traditions explored during the forum. The Food Forum will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at HNOC’s Williams Research Center at 410 Chartres Street. The Food Fête tasting will take place at 520 Royal Street from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
