Aren’t you tired of swiping in the hopes of running into a specific someone you have an existing, lingering curiosity about? Here’s your chance to be brave—to take the active route instead of the passive one. Let’s connect again. (Entries may be minimally edited for clarity.)
Gorgeous Blonde Futch at Paraíso
To the really gorgeous blonde futch girl in the backwards hat who winked at me and ran to hold open the door for me at Paraíso convenience store on Banks, I was so locked into my convo with my friend I didn’t notice that whole scene. My friend decided not to tell me until we left LOL. I’m the girl with the pink and brown hair. You’re so pretty and I would love to meet 🙂
Angel at Bud Rip’s
I was sitting outside Bud Rip’s trying desperately to convince my incredibly drunk new friend to call for a ride home when you appeared like an angel and offered to get us both home safe in your car. I was so grateful for the assistance that I missed asking for a date or at least your number. I know you mentioned going on dates recently with dudes so you might be straight, but definitely owe you a drink if not dinner. Either way, thank you for the rescue!
Crushable Stetson
We met at Soon Enough. You were on your way to the Wood Brothers at Tip’s. I told you I like your hat, and you showed me it was crushable. I guessed you didn’t live here, and you proved me wrong. I wasn’t looking my best, but you were. I left with buddy before you did, and we exchanged goodbyes. I wish we would’ve exchanged numbers. You said you were hitting every day of Jazz Fest, and I looked for you (in vain of course) every day I was there. If by chance you see this, I’ll be at Soon Enough as soon as you tell me to be.
Front Yard Time Warp
To the gaggle of sweet transvestites putting on a Rocky Horror production in a front yard off Napoleon, your performance was wonderful! My partner and I saw the pool scene while getting off the bus, and it was all serendipitously sweet because we were celebrating our anniversary that night, and originally met doing a shadow cast in college. Maybe for your next show run an ad in ANTIGRAVITY! We’ll make a date out of it and be front row with popcorn, boas, and sticky white face paint.

Passed Phone Number at Juan’s Flying Burrito
I was at Juan’s Flying Burrito tapeworming my way through an impromptu burrito and quesadilla before deciding I better go home and cook something before I eat through my paycheck. You were sitting at the other corner of the bar next to two unrelated gentlemen and stealing glances at me. I’m as terrible at public flirtation as much as I adored your hair and your tattoos, and I wouldn’t dare try to impress you on a “relatively” empty stomach. I wrote my name and number on a piece of paper before I left, acting like it dropped by you as I slipped it into your hands, and then left. I think about that night; I hope the approach was at least amusing.
