Flat Out Stranded

The city was flooded
floor to ceiling and
up to the roofs
with immigrants
ready for the ugly work
of gutting to the studs
in clouds of black mold

remember the rain
of flat cap roofing nails
the constant flat tires
imagine the banditos
learning why they are
not welcome, flat out
stranded in their SUVs
