Queen of Pentacles § Queen of Wands § The Tower
The Queen of Pentacles says: If you intend to prepare for what lay ahead in your life, you must begin with your most basic requirements. First, you need a break from trying to find the time for this and that and every other thing. Without rest from the stress of ruminating on the unresolvable, your body starts to feel like it’s trapped by its own inability to puzzle through survival. The Queen of Pentacles has the cure to this modern mind-crisis and it is one of the oldest pieces of knowledge to know: Be here now. Focus on what you are doing in the moment because that is how you expand time. An easy way to think of it is: If you pay attention as you go, you don’t owe interest later. The Queen of Pentacles is very serious when she tells us to work with who we are and how we function best. If you can only really pay attention three minutes at a time, then plan for that. You can only work with yourself if you account for how you truly behave. The best plans can be made for someone who doesn’t exist, but that will never make any difference to someone who does.
For the Queen of Wands, curiosity is hunger. She is always full of questions about everything from your recipes to you and your parents’ financial standing. It’s not that she doesn’t like secrets, it’s that she doesn’t believe in them. There is never a reason not to lay your cards on the table, from her point of view. The Queen of Wands is out in the streets right now asking every question she deems worthy of an answer. She says: Don’t offer possible answers to your inquiries, give people space and let them find the words. You’ll learn more from their struggle to do so than you will from what they say. The Queen of Wands is capable of both great destruction and limitless creative evolution. Which of those tools she chooses depends on the job, of course. The Queen of Wands is likely to come across as a free spirit prone to espousing solipsistic philosophies and dabbling in every craft that comes into her purview, but she is also a keen observer and a grudge collector who listens carefully all the time, to every word and gesture.
The Tower means the charade will crash. The message is: Call their bluff. Ask the most succinct questions you can formulate. Ask your partners and politicians what their true goals, visions, and intentions are and let them find the words. Decide where you stand, what you are going to say, and what options you are willing to accept. The Tower presents a destabilized environment that will feel unsettling to some degree. Don’t try to out-think the uncertainty that accompanies the collapse of illusions both great and small. You will be left with only confusion if you do. Plan for it instead. Plan to ride out the tremors, decide you will not make rash decisions, find ways to turn waiting games into useful and memorable hours. Wisdom is our tool and it is the foundation of our resilience. Choose to interrogate your own denial. The Tower is here, it is crumbling, and the hidden agendas and deceit will continue to flood into the streets for all to see. If you need a secret or a lie to feel safe with other people, you should expect your cover to be blown. May the odds favor our liberation.
