WILD WAVES

Happy Aries season! It’s the astronomical new year! Time to embrace the primal joy of living, plant seeds that nurture personal growth, and set fire to the things that don’t serve our highest good. Aries energy is adventurous, assertive, and ultimately gives us an opportunity to explore our individual needs and desires from the perspective of our most innate selves. What, at your core, inspires your most impulsive actions and decisions? The new moon in Aries on April 1st will bring your demanding primal nature to the forefront of your consciousness, perhaps inspiring swift changes in your personal patterns or life choices. Both Venus and Mars will enter Pisces this month (on the 5th and 14th, respectively), which might feel like a downer to those of us with more fiery natures, but will ultimately encourage a balance between introspection and outward action. The full moon in Libra on the 16th also encourages equilibrium and has the potential to teach us all valuable lessons about balancing our own needs with those of others—while still being a lot of fun!

ARIES

Happy You season, Aries! We are lucky to have your playfulness, tenacity, and straightforward nature as part of the zodiac. As the first sign in the astrological cycle you are deeply in tune with your intuition and animal nature, and (as you probably know) that can be a lot to handle! Your ruling planet Mars will be transiting Aquarius until the 14th when it moves into Pisces. Both transits are concerned with collective societal and spiritual goals, and you might feel pulled in opposite directions between your desire to fulfill your own primal needs and your desire to care for your community and release negative cycles in your life. Balance your sweetness and savagery to watch your flowers bloom with grace.

TAURUS

This month the sun will transit your 12th house before entering your 1st house on the 19th. Twelfth house transits can be difficult, as they deal with the subconscious and the unknowable nature of reality—themes that aren’t easy for anyone—particularly not for your grounded, earthy nature. If you are feeling a bit unsettled at the beginning of the month, Mercury’s movement into your sign on the 10th will provide welcome respite from existential concerns. Spending time in nature or gardening could be very beneficial, particularly once the sun enters Taurus on the 19th. These transits encourage increased self-love in the form of seeds (both real and metaphorical) that you want to plant and watch grow!

GEMINI

Aries and Geminis are usually fast friends: both desire novelty, stimulation, playfulness, and kindness. This Aries season will probably feel as though it flows much easier than Pisces season—the sun will be transiting your 11th house of friendship, community care, and higher thought, and will conjunct your ruling planet Mercury on the 2nd. This day and the days around it are an excellent time to work toward your social and societal goals with equal measures of playfulness and sobriety. The full moon in fellow air sign Libra on the 16th will be very rewarding (and fun!) if you have been able to maintain equilibrium.

CANCER

April might feel like a particularly potent time for you in many realms of life. The sun will be transiting your 10th house, and a focus on career and public image might have you feeling scrutinized or challenged when it comes to your creative capabilities. Venus and Mars will both be entering fellow water sign Pisces on the 5th and the 14th, respectively. This transit might have you feeling constrained in relationships that lack clarity and could encourage a more intellectual approach than Cancer’s preferred baseline of instinct and intuition.

LEO

This month is relatively astrolgically quiet for you, Leo, and will perhaps feel like a much-needed break from previously compounding burdens. It is a good time for study and travel, and a particularly good time to show up for yourself in ways that feel authentic. The new moon in Aries on the 1st is an excellent time to release intellectual patterns that might feel too fixed, and to practice being less stubborn. If, during Aries season, you are able to embrace and initiate change, fellow fixed sign Taurus season’s arrival on the 19th will bring the kind of stability you seek.

VIRGO

Mercury, your ruling planet, will transit three different signs this month, which might feel a bit overwhelming! In addition, the sun will be transiting your 8th house, which is associated with some heavy energies: death, taxes, marriage, sex, etc. As such, the sun’s transit through this area of our chart can highlight shadows we might not want to face, even though ultimately it benefits us greatly to do so. In addition to these transits, Venus and Mars will both be moving into your sister sign Pisces this month, perhaps inspiring ways of being that are less practical and more romantic.

LIBRA

The sun’s transit through your sister sign Aries this month will highlight experiences around partnerships, beauty, creativity, self, other, and love itself. The new moon in Aries on the 1st will offer clarity around unhealthy relationship patterns—specifically those that are not even or reciprocal. Your ruling planet Venus will be moving into Pisces on the 5th, perhaps making you wary of illusions that might cloud what could otherwise be a very good time to prioritize yourself and your needs. The full moon in your sign on the 16th will offer opportunities for celebration and community building if you’ve been sure to balance your own needs with those of the people you love.

SCORPIO

This month the sun will transit your 6th house, meaning you are halfway through the transit of the sun through your chart. Aries and Scorpio share rulership of the planet Mars and this mid-year spark of energy might be exactly what you’ve been looking for. Venus and Mars will both be entering fellow water sign Pisces, who is anything but confrontational, and it might feel like a delicate balancing act between knowing when to conserve your power, and when to strike like a scorpion. It is an excellent time to set healthy boundaries in your relationships and put your emotional and physical health first. The sun will enter your sister sign Taurus on the 19th, encouraging you to slow down and smell the roses after a much more intense Aries season.

SAGITTARIUS

Aries and Sagittarius are both fire signs, and though Sagittarius energy is presumed to be more mature (or at the very least more adaptable), there are a number of things your energy can learn from Aries. If you have goals related to family, creativity, or your love life that you’ve put on the back burner, let Aries season’s endless possibilities inspire you to conquer them. Mercury will be moving into your sister sign Gemini at the end of the month, bringing further opportunities for love, creativity, and spontaneity.

CAPRICORN

Fellow cardinal sign Aries has more in common with you than you think. While perhaps you are calculated and cool and they are fiery and impulsive, there is yet an undeniable similarity in where those two ways of being originate from: an innate desire to thrive! The sun will be transiting your 4th house of home, security, and emotional vulnerability, and you might find yourself prone to more theatrics than usual. The first 10 days of the month might feel particularly chaotic until Mercury enters fellow earth sign Taurus, followed by the sun on the 19th. The full moon in fellow cardinal sign Libra on the 16th will offer opportunities to clear your mind and make space for clear-headed, heart-centered communication.

AQUARIUS

This month the sun will transit your 3rd house, encouraging you to embrace the lighter side of your airy nature and explore new possibilities intellectually and socially. Venus and Mars will finish their transit through your sign on the 5th and 14th, respectively. These transits have probably signified a new start in how you approach relationships and desires in general, and Mercury’s movement into fellow fixed sign Taurus on the 10th will have you feeling stifled or grounded, depending on your attitude. The full moon in fellow air sign Libra on the 16th is a good time to examine your relationship to stability and freedom, and how you can embrace and embody both.

PISCES

As the sun transits your 2nd house this month you are being asked to take a look at your material stability and also your stability within yourself and your body. Venus will enter your sign on the 5th and Mars will enter it on the 14th. These transits will prioritize lessons about love, relationships, creativity, and passion. How can your Piscean nature remain receptive and open in a world where boundaries are so necessary for emotional survival? Mercury’s movement into fellow mutable sign Gemini on the 29th will encourage you to allow your mind to drive sometimes, and that doesn’t necessarily mean in a straight line.
